ConvertFree ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website convertfree.io. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you visit our site.

Information We Collect

ConvertFree is designed with privacy at its core. All file conversions happen directly in your browser -- your files are never uploaded to our servers. We collect minimal information:

Server logs: Standard web server logs including IP addresses, browser type, referring pages, and timestamps. These are used for security and diagnostics.
Analytics data: Privacy-limited usage events such as page paths, device and viewport buckets, traffic-source buckets, tool actions, conversion outcomes, downloads, engagement time, and scroll percentage.
No file data: Your files, filenames, image pixels, and embedded EXIF/GPS metadata are processed entirely in your browser using JavaScript. We never see, store, or transmit them.
No account required: We do not require registration, and we do not collect names, email addresses, or other personal information unless you voluntarily contact us.

Third-Party Services

Adsterra: When advertising is enabled, one approved display banner may be served on the homepage, substantial guides, and substantive tool pages. Legal, contact, about, numeric-conversion, and error pages do not contain ad mounts. Adsterra and its advertising partners may use cookies, pixels, or similar technologies to deliver and measure advertisements. See Adsterra's Privacy Policy. ConvertFree does not use popunders, push notifications, Social Bar, or interstitial ad formats.

First-party analytics: ConvertFree sends privacy-limited events to a Cloudflare Workers Analytics Engine dataset. The event schema deliberately excludes file names, file contents, entered text, email addresses, JWTs, raw search terms, and full external URLs. A random browser-session identifier stored in session storage is used to group events within one browsing session.

Cloudflare: Our site is served through Cloudflare, which may collect standard connection data for performance and security purposes. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

Tool libraries: File, image, metadata, and cooking tools use pinned open-source libraries and datasets served from convertfree.io. Large HEIC and AVIF decoders load only after you use a relevant tool. Processing remains on your device; these dependencies do not send your input to a public code-delivery network.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We and our third-party partners use cookies for the following purposes:

Advertising: When banners are enabled, Adsterra and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to deliver and measure ads.
Analytics: ConvertFree uses session storage for a random session identifier and first-page attribution. It does not store file or form contents in analytics.
Preferences: Local storage remembers theme, favorites, recent tools, saved PDF workflows, and conversion history on your device.

You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling cookies may affect site functionality.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information collected through our site:

All traffic is served over HTTPS with TLS encryption.
Our site is hosted on Cloudflare's global infrastructure with built-in DDoS protection and security features.
All file processing occurs locally in your browser. Your files never leave your device.
Analytics events are append-only and privacy-limited. Cloudflare may retain operational server logs under its own policies.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:

Access: Request information about what data we hold about you.
Deletion: Request deletion of any personal data we may have collected.
Opt-out: Block or delete advertising cookies through your browser controls and the choices described by the advertising provider.
Do Not Track: We respect Do Not Track browser signals where technically feasible.
